You're reading: Motor Sich sees 2,5 times rise in net profit in 2012

Public joint-stock company Motor Sich in January-March 2012 saw Hr 564.56 million in net profit, which was 2.5 time up year-over-year (Hr 224.07 million), reads a quarterly report of the company published in the information disclosure system of the National Commission for Securities and the Stock Market on April 26, 2012.

The report says that its net revenue grew by 43.2%, to Hr 1.529 billion.

According to the document, gross profit in January-March 2012 rose by 34.4%, to Hr 760.18 million, while profit from operations soared by 70.1%, to Hr 574.39 million.

"In the first quarter of 2012 sales of products and provision of services in aviation and ground-based equipment grew year-over-year. Growth in sales is linked to the new level of prices and the increase in the number of produced and repaired products," reads the report.

The document says that sales of new engines brought Hr 849.11 million, repair of aircraft engines brought Hr 348.01 million, other services – Hr 160.29 million and sales of consumer goods – Hr 156.096 million. The share of exported goods (mainly to Russia) reached 93.8%, and the largest customer was Moscow-based Center of Purchases and Logistics.

Motor Sich added that as a whole the contracts and orders signed with consumers for 2012 give grounds to give a positive forecast for the sales of all types of products made by the enterprise.

The company said that in Q1, 2012, Hr 127.3 million was sent to reconstruct and re-equipment production facilities: Hr 83.3 million was sent to buy equipment, Hr 13.2 million was sent for upgrades, Hr 20.7 million to reconstruct existing facilities and Hr 10.1 million was allocated to re-equip branches.

The report says over the period the company worked on the creation of its Web site and online shop aimed to increase sales.

Motor Sich said that in Q1, 2012, the enterprise bought a 59.5% stake in OJSC Orsha Aircraft Overhaul Plant (Belarus).
