Naftogaz Ukrainy in connection with the beginning of the heating season from October 20 started taking gas from the underground gas storage facilities (UGS) and has brought it to the level of 23-25 million cubic meters per day, first deputy board chairman Serhiy Pereloma has said.

“With the expansion [of the heating season] gas taking will be up to 50 million cubic meters (mcm) per day,” he said at a Cabinet meeting in Kyiv.

Pereloma reported that reverse supplies from Slovakia are kept in the volume of up to 27 million cubic meters per day, while deliveries from Poland began to decline due to the start of the heating season in that country.

The Naftogaz representative stated that reverse supplies from Hungary are still blocked.

As reported, reverse gas supplies to Ukraine from Poland were in the range of 4 million cubic meters.
