Naftogaz Ukrainy on July 2 signed a loan agreement with Russia's Gazprombank for a $2 billion loan, according to a statement posted on the Derzhavni Zakupivli Web site.
The cost of servicing a credit line raised for seven years (2012-2019) will be $1.540 billion.
Naftogaz will attract funds at a tender with one participant. The funds will be used to pay for imported Russian gas.
As reported, at the end of 2011 Gazprombank issued a $550 million loan to Naftogaz to pay for Russian gas.
Naftogaz includes the largest oil and gas producers in Ukraine, and
has a monopoly on transshipments and underground storage of natural gas,
and transportation of oil via pipelines in the country.
