The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) in November 2012 bought $613.5 million on the interbank currency market and sold $2.272 billion, the NBU has reported on its official Web site.

According to the report, the negative balance of the central bank’s
interventions on the interbank currency market in November came to
$1.659 billion, while in October the NBU sold $1.797 billion more than
it bought.

The NBU said that the purchase of currency by the central bank in
November grew by 33.4% compared to October, while sales rose by 1%.

In January-November 2012, NBU sold $7.066 billion more than it sold.

The volume of transactions with cashless foreign currency on the
interbank market (purchase and sale in the dollar equivalent, taking
into account transactions of the State Treasury Service of Ukraine) in
November came to $66.736 billion, which is 7.7% up on the previous
month, according to the NBU.
