The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Jordan has bought 100,000 tonnes of wheat from Ukrainian-based Nibulon agribusiness at an international tender, which will increase that country's wheat purchases from the Ukrainian company to 200,000 tonnes in the current 2012/13 marketing year.

As Nibulon reported on Friday, wheat under the new contract will be shipped in November 2012.

According to the company, the previous tender it won foresees two shipments of 50,000 tonnes each in the second half of August and the first half of September.

“Nibulon is a traditional supplier for Jordan, as in the 2011/2012 the company sent most of its supplies to that Middle Eastern country,” reads the report.

The company also announced that under the UN World Food Program it would supply 9,820 tonnes of Ukrainian wheat to Mauritania (the port of Nouakchott), North Africa, in the second half of August and early in September 2012.

Nibulon was established in 1991 and is one of the largest operators on the grain market. The company has elevators with a total capacity of 1.6 million tonnes, as well as its own transshipment terminal in Mykolaiv.

Under the UN World Food Program and state tenders in 2008-2012, Nibulon shipped about 1.9 million tonnes of grain.
