Sergiy Mamedov was appointed chairman of the board at Ukrgazbank, Ukraine’s 17th-largest bank by volume of assets.

The Ministry of Finance became the main shareholder of the bank since its nationalization in 2009.

Mamedov will manage the bank that has more than 260 branches and points of sale throughout the country.

Mamedov joined the bank as a director of the treasury in 2003.

His last position in the bank was deputy chairman.

Before joining the bank, he had more than seven years experience in financial management with Aval Bank and Etalon Bank.

Mamedov received his master’s degree in business administration from Kyiv National University of Economics in 1997.
