Roshen confectionary corporation is ready to cooperate with Russia to return its products to the Russian market, a shareholder in the company, MP Petro Poroshenko said during the Shuster Live show on Inter TV channel on September 6, 2013.

“We’ve been attempting to get their attention for two months. Maybe someone arrives and we’ll make a joint group or a commission? I’m against the politicizing the process. Ukraine should act only under law. If you closed markets, come to us. We’re open to checks, food safety and standards, as these are partnership relations, and the rest is from evil,” Poroshenko said.

He said that Russia with the introduction of a ban and restrictions on some Ukrainian goods has violated the rules of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

“They violate WTO rules – customs procedures cannot apply to over 7% of products. As for Ukraine – this is 34%. This is the obvious violation of the WTO requirements,” he said.

“Russia is interested to use our self-esteem, our missiles and there are Kyiv’s cakes and Roshen sweets, and today they are missing this,” he added.
