Chernihiv - Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko says he supports the efforts made by the Cabinet of Ministers and the National Bank of Ukraine aimed at ensuring the stability of Ukraine's largest bank, PrivatBank (Dnipropetrovsk).

“Yesterday I talked to the prime minister and the central bank’s governor, and can state that capital outflow from Privat [Bank] has sharply fallen as of today, it has almost stopped. Privat [bank] feels strong and stable,” Poroshenko told reporters in Chernihiv on March 31 when answering a question about the situation at the bank.

According to Poroshenko, Governor of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Valeriya Gontareva announced that the government would support the stability and efficient work of PrivatBank.

“And I, as president, fully support such efforts by the government and the NBU to ensure Privat’s stability. We won’t let any problems [affect] Privat,” he said.
