You're reading: Poroshenko: Technical procedures for signing of FTA agreement with EU to be completed in 2012

All of the necessary technical procedures for the signing of the agreement between Ukraine and the European Union on the creation of a deep and comprehensive free trade area (DCFTA) will be completed by the end of 2012, Minister for Economic Development and Trade Petro Poroshenko has said.

“Speaking about our work on ensuring the signing of a comprehensive agreement with the EU, I can say that the agreement was initialed. For our part [the Economic Development and Trade Ministry, we completed the drafting of the final Ukrainian text of the document, and we have every reason to believe that technical procedures, including the draft in the languages of 27 EU member countries, will be completed by the end of the year,” he said at a meeting with representatives of trade unions on Monday.

As reported, representatives of Ukraine and the EU completed the initialling of the FTA agreement in Brussels on July 19.
