The list of imported goods for possible withdrawal from Ukraine's free trade regime with Russia is estimated at $2.5 billion, Acting Economic Development and Trade Minister Valeriy Piatnytsky said.

“If one speaks about the list prepared by Russia, it cumulatively covers 25 percent of our traditional exports to Russia. This is about $3.5 billion worth of our exports if one takes the year 2013. Our list consists of about 830 tariff lines. They cover a significantly smaller amount of imports from Russia, [this is] about $2.5 billion,” the minister said at a roundtable meeting in Kyiv on Oct. 15.

Despite the fact that Ukraine’s counter-measures considerably differ from Russian ones, they still allow the country to react and safeguard its market, he said.

Piatnytsky also added that non-tariff regulations are currently used to limit Ukrainian exports to Russia in a wide range of foodstuffs, including confectionery, meat and dairy foods, beer, soft drinks, fruit and vegetables, and other products.
