Ukraine in 2014 could import about 6-6.5 billion cubic meters of gas (bcm) under the reverse scheme from Europe.  "Now we receive about 18 million cubic meters of gas per day from Hungary and Poland. From September 1, under the condition of the serious work of the Slovak operator, we will be able to receive up to 22 million cubic meters of gas per day from this country. Now you can count: by the end of the year we could get 6-6.5 billion cubic meters of gas," said Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Prodan.

The minister noted that in general Ukraine has to import about 27-30 billion cubic meters of gas in 2014 to meet own needs and provide transit to Europe.
