You're reading: Retail fuel prices in Ukraine remain unchanged on July 2-9

Average prices of all major brands of light oil products in the retail segment of the Ukrainian market remained at the same level from July 2 to July 9.

The average price of A-80 petrol (Hr 10.24 per liter), A-92 petrol
(Hr 10.51 per liter), A-95 petrol (Hr 10.81 per liter) and diesel fuel
(Hr 9.71 per liter) remained unchanged over the past week, Kyiv-based
A-95 consulting group told Interfax-Ukraine.

At the same time, the large-batch wholesale segment was seeing an
increase in prices. In particular, the average price of A-92 petrol
increased by 1.5%, to 12,440 per tonne, the A-95 rose by 0.2%, to Hr
12,870 per tonne, and that of diesel fuel grew by 4.2%, to Hr 9,820 per
tonne, while the average price of A-80 petrol dropped by 1.6%, to Hr
10,970 per tonne.

As reported, despite a decline in prices of crude oil seen on
international markets in past months, the decrease of fuel prices in
Ukraine stopped due to an increase in a flowing excise rate on fuel.

Ukraine’s Energy and Coal Industry Ministry revised upwards the
excise duty on petrol and diesel fuel for the first 10 days of July, and
in particular, the excise rate of petrol was raised by EUR 32.15 per
tonne, to EUR 283.87 per tonne. The excise duty on diesel fuel was
increased by EUR 8.04 per tonne, to EUR 119.47 per tonne.

These calculations are based on the average quotations of Brent crude
oil for the previous 10 days (the last 10 days of June), set at $90.83
per barrel.
