MOSCOW - The Russian side is considering the possibility of offering Naftogaz Ukrainy a discount on the price of gas - in the form of a reduce export duty - not only for the third quarter but until the end of the year.
A final discussion on the issue of the gas volume that Ukraine must pump into underground storage to increase inventories to 19 billion cubic meters of active gas will be held during a trilateral meeting currently planned for the end of June, Energy Minister Alexander Novak told journalists.
Also at the end of June, a decision will be made on a possible discounted gas price for Ukraine.
“The discount for gas will also be discussed at the end of June. We will see: either it is for the third quarter or for two quarters, to the end of the year,” Novak said.
