You're reading: Singapore’s Food Empire Holding opens coffee plant in Cherkasy region

Singapore's Food Empire Holding on November 20, 2012 opened the Fes-Ukr instant coffee plant in Zolotonosha (Cherkasy region), the company's press service reported on Tuesday.

 

The press service said that the plant’s capacity amounts to 25 tonnes of products per day.


The new plant producers 24 types of products, including instant coffee under the MacCoffee and Petrovskaya Sloboda brands, snacks and instant chicory drink, the company said.


A representative of the board of directors of Food Empire Holding, Tan Wang Cheow, said that the company plans to sell products of the new plant on the Ukrainian market and export them to other countries of Eastern Europe.


According to the report, Food Empire Holding has started building a second production complex, which will pack grain coffee as well. Its launch is scheduled for 2013.


“We’ve invested UAH 180 million in production and we plan to invest additional UAH 30 million in the first four months of 2013,” reads the press release, citing Food Empire Holding Chief Executive Officer Sudeep Nair as saying.


Food Empire Holdings is one of the largest manufacturers of instant beverage products, frozen convenience food, confectionery and snack food. The company’s shares are listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange.


The MacCoffee plant in Zolotonosha produces around 20 types of products per year under the MacCoffee and Petrovskaya Sloboda brands.
