MOSCOW - German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier has proposed arranging direct dialogue between the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) to settle issues between them.

“There is some objection to and perhaps misunderstanding on the Russian part as concerns trade relations between the EU and Ukraine. At the same time, there is certain skepticism in Europe regarding the establishment of the Eurasian Union,” Steinmeier said at a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Moscow on Nov. 18.

“Perhaps it makes sense to make conclusions from this in the sense that these issues should be discussed in a direct dialogue, which didn’t exist in the past,” he said.
