The general tariff for the supply of natural gas to Ukrainian consumers grew by 6.1% or by Hr 17.30 from Oct. 1, 2011 compared to the previous tariff of Hr 285, to Hr 302.30 per thousand cubic meters (VAT not included).

The new tariff was approved at a meeting of the National Energy Regulatory Commission of Ukraine (NERC) on Sept. 29, 2011 in its resolution No. 1700.

The average tariff for the transportation of natural gas using main pipelines for Ukrtransgaz grew by 2.5% or Hr 2.5, from Hr 104.20 to Hr 101.70 per thousand cubic meters (VAT not included), while the tariff for the transportation of gas using gas distribution pipelines rose by 8.1% or Hr 14.80, from Hr 183.30 to Hr 198.10 per thousand cubic meters (VAT not included).

The average tariff for the transportation of natural gas using the main pipelines for Chornomornaftogaz was up by 4.1% or Hr 3.07, from Hr 75.78 to Hr 78.85 per thousand cubic meters (VAT not included).

The commission did not change the average tariff for supply of natural gas, keeping it at Hr 48.50 per thousand cubic meters (VAT not included).

The general tariffs in effect all over Ukraine is the sum of the calculated tariff for the transportation of natural gas using main pipelines and the average tariff for the transportation of natural gas using gas distribution pipelines.

The revised tariffs take into account work of companies that provided gas transportation, distribution and supply services.

As reported, the commission revised the general tariffs for the transportation of natural gas to Ukrainian consumers in late June 2011.

From July 1, 2011 it grew by 9.7%, to Hr 285 per thousand cubic meters (VAT not included).

The NERC performs state regulation of the activity of natural monopolists in the area of electrical energy generation and the oil and gas complex.

It also sets price and tariff policy in these areas.
