The State Tax Service is planning to take steps to withdraw the market of financial services from the shadows and strengthen the national currency, the press service has said, referring to Tax Service Head Vitaliy Zakharchenko.
"Within its power, the tax service will take steps to withdraw the market of financial services from the shadow and strengthen the national currency," Zakharchenko said at an operational meeting with tax police officials.
According to him, the purpose is to make the national currency, rather than U.S. dollars or euros, the main monetary unit in Ukraine.
"Currently our state is taking systemic measures to withdraw economic processes from the shadow. One of them is to streamline foreign currency exchange operations by the National Bank of Ukraine," he said.
