Kyiv-based Texas Chicken Ukraine LLC, which has won the right to develop the Texas Chicken fast food restaurant chain under a franchise agreement in Ukraine, says it plans in the coming five years to open 40-50 restaurants in large cities and towns of Ukraine.

“The right to obtain the franchise agreement in Ukraine was received by Texas Chicken Ukraine. I want to say that the company is not affiliated with Russia’s European Active Corporation, as some Ukrainian media reports mistakenly said. We plan to open 40-50 restaurants in large Ukrainian cities and towns in the coming five years,” the press service of the Ukrainian Trade Guild (UTG, Kyiv) said, citing Texas Chicken Ukraine CEO Sayed Naser.

The amount of investment in the chain is not disclosed.

Naser said that the standard area of Texas Chicken restaurants is 250 square meters. If the restaurant is located in a shopping mall, its space could be from 75 square meters.

The press release says that in March it is planned to open the Texas Chicken restaurant at a zero level of the Ocean Plaza shopping mall. The space of the restaurant, which will be opened with the help of UTG, will total 192 square meters.

As reported, Church`s Chicken in Q1, 2013 plans to open its first two restaurants in Ukraine in Kyiv’s Dream Town and Ocean Plaza.

Texas Chicken Ukraine LLC was founded in Kyiv in July 2012.

The Texas Chicken fast food chain was founded in Texas in 1952 under the Church’s Chicken brand. The chain is the second largest fast food restaurant chain in the world.

Church’s Chicken operates two brands Texas Chicken and Church’s Chicken. The chain unites 1,700 restaurants all over the world, including 40 restaurants operating outside the United States in 16 countries.

The Ukrainian Trade Guild was set up in 2001. Over 12 years of its operation, 97 real estate facilities has been opened with the participation of the UTG, including Ocean Plaza shopping mall (Kyiv), Meganom shopping mall )Simferopol) and French Boulevard shopping mall (Kharkiv).

The UTG is selecting leasers for 17 facilities with a total lettable area of 834,000 square meters.

In 2012, the company managed seven shopping malls in Ukraine with a total lettable area of 325,000 square meters.

The UTG is a member of the Association of Trade Centers of Ukraine and the International Council of Shopping Cen ters, and is also a member of the Urban Land Institute.
