You're reading: The Central Election Commission approves spending on early parliamentary elections at about Hr 1 billion

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has approved the spending on early parliamentary elections in Ukraine at Hr 957.8 million.

Such a decision was taken at a commission meeting on Sept. 17.

As reported, the CEC proposed amending the law on the election of people’s deputies of Ukraine to reduce expenditures on early parliamentary elections on Oct. 26 by about Hr 140 million, in particular, by refusing from the allocation of state budget funds for election campaigning. A respective bill was prepared by the concerned parliamentary committee, but the Verkhovna Rada could not adopt it.

The Cabinet of Ministers allocated Hr 957.8 million for parliamentary elections from the reserve fund.
