You're reading: Trade ministry: Ukraine imports gas at two prices in May

Natural gas imports to Ukraine in May 2011 were performed at two prices, of $280 and $297.58 per 1,000 cubic meters, the Economic Development and Trade Ministry said on Tuesday.

Along with this, in May natural gas was imported to the country under six contracts: at $280 in the first to fifth cases and at $297.58 in the sixth one.

In this regard, the ministry increased the adjusting coefficient for calculating natural gas royalties for May 2011 by 0.4% compared to April, to 1.6447.

According to the ministry, the customs value of natural gas imported in January 2011 was $264 and $266.50 per 1,000 cubic meters, in February and March the figure was $263.04, and in April $296, $280 and $297.58 per 1,000 cubic meters.

The price of natural gas imported by Naftogaz Ukrainy from Russia in the first quarter of 2011 grew to $264 per 1,000 cubic meters compared to $252 per 1,000 cubic meters in the fourth quarter of 2010.

In the second quarter of 2011, according to Naftogaz, it is about $297 per 1,000 cubic meters.
