You're reading: Tranche from EU macro-finance aid could arrive in Ukraine in November

The Ukrainian leadership expects a third tranche from the first package of the European Union's macro-financial assistance to arrive in November.

“A decision is to be made before Oct. 22 to provide the third tranche from the first stage of micro-financial assistance, amounting to 260 million euros. This funding will hopefully arrive in November,” deputy presidential chief of staff Valeriy Chaly said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

Ukraine will subsequently receive 250 million euros, and then an additional 500 million euros, presumably in January 2015, he said.

Legislative preparations are underway for the third tranche, amounting to 1-2 billion euros, Chaly said.
