Economy Minister Vasyl Tsushko sees winning back investors' trust in Ukraine as one of immediate tasks of the government.

Ukrainian News learned this from a statement by the press service of the Economy Ministry.

According to the statement, Economy Minister Vasyl Tsushko has met with Morgan Williams, President of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council.

The parties discussed the development of the investment activities in Ukraine and the development of the Ukrainian business abroad.

"Ukraine highly appreciates the aspirations and efforts of the U.S.-Ukraine Business Council to develop the bilateral trade and investment relations between Ukraine and the United States and to support American companies in our countries," said Vasyl Tsushko.

The economy minister’s firm position is that the immediate tasks of the Cabinet of Ministers include removal of hurdles on the way of effective attraction of investment in the Ukrainian economy, including the removal of such an obstacle as absence of sufficient guarantees to the property right in the country.

As Ukrainian News earlier reported, President Viktor Yanukovych of Ukraine considers it necessary to step up efforts on engagement of investors in the projects related to the preparations for the Euro 2012 European football championship finals.
