Batkivshchyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko believes the introduction of export duties on certain grains will destroy the Ukrainian peasantry.

It is announced on the Official website of Yulia Tymoshenko.

"The president introduced an export duty on grain. Peasants have been robbed of 6 billion hryvnias. Yanukovych is like reverse Robin Hood: he takes from the poor to give to the rich!" Yulia Tymoshenko wrote on Twitter.

As reported, today President Viktor Yanukovych signed the Law of Ukraine "On amending the Tax Code of Ukraine and adopting rates of export duties for certain types of grain" ignoring requests from Ukrainian agrarian organizations to veto it.

The law was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on May 19 and calls for export quotas of 9-14% to be introduced by the end of 2011.
