Foreign grants worth a total of 110 million euros will be attracted to Ukraine from the beginning of 2015, Head of Vinnytsia Regional State Administration Anatoliy Oliynyk has said.

“From Jan. 1, 2015, 100 million euros will be attracted to Ukraine through the Ukraine-Poland program and 10 million euros through the Ukraine-Moldova fund – we need to only properly use the funds issued for investment programs. For this we should implement a number of institutional arrangements to coordinate a mechanism of cooperation with the European Union,” the official said at a meeting in the administration.

He said that Vinnytsia region has developed a number of programs that allow to attract grant funding, including those for cross-border cooperation, particularly the improvement of border checkpoints in the region and the construction of a modern Yampil-Cosauti bridge between Ukraine and Moldova.

The official also informed about the visit of the delegation of Vinnytsia region to Iasi county of Romania.

“A mechanism for cooperation with the territories adjacent to the European Union was developed at an international forum in Iasi. We exchange views – how we need to focus on the West. Our active position is important here,” Oliynyk said.
