Ukraine as of December 6, 2012 had threshed 46 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops, Acting Agricultural Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk has reported.

“We have threshed 46 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops. We
expect to harvest a total of 46.5 million tonnes of grain,” he said.

He said Ukraine this year has harvested 15.7 million tonnes of wheat, 7.2 million tonnes of barley and 700,000 tonnes of rye.

He also said that the maize harvest is expected to reach more than 21 million tonnes.

As for industrial crops, according to Prysiazhniuk, the soybeans
harvest was about 2.3 million tonnes, that of sunflower was 7.9 million
tonnes, rapeseeds – 1.2 million tonnes, and sugar beets – 18.3 million
tonnes.
