You're reading: Ukraine imports natural gas from Europe at $278.7 in May

Ukraine in May 2015 imported natural gas from Europe at an average price of $278.7 per 1,000 cubic meters, which is 0.1 percent less than in April 2015 ($278.9).

According to the State Statistics Service, in May Europe supplied natural gas in the total volume of 750.738 million cubic meters for a total of $209.201 million.

In particular, Ukraine received 279.134 million cubic meters for $79.204 million (with an average price of $283.8) from counterparts in Germany in April, from Hungary – 189.357 million cubic meters for $48.908 million ($258.3), from Norway – 234.953 million cubic meters for $68.449 million ($291.3), Switzerland – 37.180 million cubic meters for $9.746 million ($262.1), Luxembourg – 10.114 million cubic meters for $2.894 million ($286.1).

In general, in January-May 2015 Ukraine imported 5.544 billion cubic meters of gas worth $1.604 billion from Europe.

At the same time, the State Statistics Service did not provide data on the volume and value of natural gas imports from Russia between February and May.
