Chelyabinsk – Supplies of pipes on which antidumping duties have been imposed from Ukraine to Russia in sharply grew, despite the protectionist measures taken, the director of the Pipe Industry Development Fund (FRTP) Oleg Kalinsky told reporters in Chelyabinsk on Tuesday.

He reminded that antidumping duties of around 20 percent are imposed on Ukrainian-made pipes. Despite this fact, large growth in the volume of their supplies from Ukraine to Russia is seen.

‘In January-June 2014 a rise of 42 percent in the supply of casing pipes to Russia was seen, [Ukrainian producers] supplied earlier 100 tonnes to Belarus, now they supply 1,000 tonnes. As for pump-compressor pipes supplies to Russia, the growth was percent. We see the increasing supply of those pipes on which antidumping duties are imposed,’ he said.

This happened thanks to the reduction of the customs cost of the pipes, he said.

‘The customs cost is set too low and the antidumping measure was also reduced. The ingenious practice of unfair competition to pass existing measures is seen. The factor is very serious for us, and unfair dumping continues,’ he said.
