You're reading: Ukraine ups beer exports by 8%, imports by 32% over four months of 2012

Ukraine in January-April 2012 exported 82.33 million liters of beer, which is 7.9% up on the same period in 2011, the State Statistics Service reported on Thursday.

According to the service, exports in monetary terms grew by 8.2%, to $28.93 million.

Beer imports to Ukraine in the period grew by 32.4%, to 11.72 million liters, and in monetary terms by 40%, to $11.46 million.

As noted in the report, the main buyers of Ukrainian beer in
January-April were Russia, Belarus and Moldova, and the main suppliers
were Russia, Belgium, Germany, and the Czech Republic.

As reported, with reference to the State Statistics Service, Ukraine
in January-May 2012 reduced beer production by 0.5% over the same period
last year, to 116 million decaliters.
