You're reading: Ukraine’s govenment decides to liquidate Energy Company of Ukraine

 The Ukrainian Cabinet of Ministers has decided to liquidate national joint-stock company Energy Company of Ukraine.

 The corresponding decision is fixed in cabinet resolution No. 398 of Sept. 3, 2014, the text of which is available on the government’s portal.

The Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry should inform the cabinet about the results of the company elimination within five months.

The ministry will also be transferred 78.29 percent of the shares of PJSC Centrenergo, 87.4 oercent of PJSC Dnistrovska hydroelectric pumped storage power plant, and 60.06 percent of Luhanskoblenergo.

At the same time, the office building located at 34 Khreschatyk Street in Kyiv is to be passed to the authority of Nuclear Fuel state concern.

Director General of Nuclear Fuel state concern Serhiy Drobot has been appointed head of the liquidation commission.

As reported, Energy Company of Ukraine, established in 2004, manages the state’s corporate rights in the electricity industry.

The government owns 100 percent of the company.
