Ukraine takes over as the head of the Commonwealth of Independent States this year. The decision was taken by the Council of CIS in Oct. 2013, UNIAN says.
As chairman, Ukraine plans to intensify the efforts to implement the Free Trade Agreement in the CIS. In particular to reach the signing of the free trade agreement in services area and to implement an agreement on access to pipelines.
Ukraine’s chairmanship will be carried out together with Belarus and Kazakhstan.
