Ukrainian exports to Customs Union member countries dropped 30 percent in the first eight months of this year, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said.

“Our exports to Customs Union countries have declined 30 percent on average,” Deputy Foreign Minister Olena Zerkal said at a press briefing in Kyiv on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

Ukrainian exports to EU countries grew 15 percent in the same period, she added.

Speaking of Russian imports, the deputy minister said they had fallen, mostly because of lesser energy supplies.

The Ukrainian government is drawing up a package of countermeasures, which will protect the domestic market amid the current situation in trade with Russia, Zerkal said.
