National energy company Ukrenergo in January-June 2013 reduced electricity transmission through the country's backbone and interstate power grids by 4.6 percent, or by 3.076 billion kWh compared to the same period of 2012, to 64.485 billion kWh, the company's press service has reported.

Over the period under review, payment for the company’s electricity
transmission services declined by 2.6 percent, or by Hr 40.939 million, to Hr
1.522 billion.

Capital investment over the period under review totaled Hr 681.366
million, which was 1.9 percent, or Hr 12.485 million more than in January-June
2013.

As reported, Ukrenergo in 2012 increased electricity transmission
through the country’s backbone and interstate power grids by 3.4 percent, or by
4.511 billion kWh compared to the same period of 2011, to 136.273
billion kWh.

The investment program of Ukrenergo for 2013 was set at Hr 1.977 billion, which is 18.3 percent down on 2012.

Ukrenergo operates Ukraine’s backbone and interstate power grids, as
well as supervising the country’s national grid. It is a state-owned
company and is controlled by the Ukrainian Energy and Coal Industry
Ministry.
