The largest Ukrainian agricultural holding in terms the size of the land bank, Ukrlandfarming, plans to harvest 3.6-3.7 million tonnes of crops.

“We plan to reach 3.6-3.7 tonnes of gross harvest,” Board Chairman and owner of Ukrlandfarming Oleh Bakhmatiuk told reporters on Tuesday.

He said that at present, the company finished harvesting winter wheat, threshing around 500,000 tonnes.

“This year we plan to export over three million tonnes [of crops]. We want to export 300,000-400,000 tonnes to China,” he added.

Bakhmatiuk also said that the company signed a memorandum of cooperation with Odesa Regional Administration on the construction of a port grain terminal.

“I hope that in 12 or 18 months we’ll reach the annual [grain handling] capacity of five million tonnes,” he added.

Bakhmatiuk said that there are problems in the poultry business of the agro-holding, in particular, at poultry farms in Donbas.

“We have three poultry farms in Donetsk, Luhansk and Volnovakha. Now we have the critical situation in Luhansk region. We are not able to bring fodder to the farm for two days,” he said.

Ukrlandfarming is the largest farming holding in Eurasia. It plants grain crops, produces eggs, egg products, and sugar, breeds cattle, and sells machinery, fertilizers and seeds.
