You're reading: Ukrtransgaz, Poland’s Gaz-system plan to put access to facilities up for sale at auction

The operators of the Ukrainian and Polish gas transport systems represented by public joint-stock company Ukrtransgaz and Gaz-system have signed an agreement of cooperation to prepare a pilot project on the organization of package auctions to sells access to facilities on the Ukrainian-Polish border, the press service of the Ukrainian company has reported.

The company said that the auctions will be held on the platform of auctions currently being held by Gaz-system. The agreement envisages that Ukrtransgaz will work on the creation of the introduction of the new regulations that will regulate the project.

“Cooperation of the two companies in this area is intended to carry out the further integration of the Ukrainian gas market into the European gas market, as a result of the implementation of the European the Capacity Allocation Mechanisms network code [CAM NC, Regulation 984/2013],” reads the report.

Ukrtransgaz, which is 100 percent owned by Naftogaz Ukrainy, operates a system of main gas pipelines and 12 underground gas storage facilities in the country.
