A tender to buy coal for Ukrainian railways, the bids for which are to be opened at 11 a. m. on Jan. 29 has been postponed due to the interference of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine under a claim of Teplo-Holding LLC (Lviv).

According to a press release of the State Railway Administration of Ukraine (Ukrzaliznytsia), the committee also canceled open tenders to buy coal in 2014 under the claims of the same company.

“This time the committee did not cancel the tender, but suspended it. The decision appeared recently. In its decision of January 28 the permanent panel of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine declared that the claim of Teplo-Holding LLC on the allegedly discriminative requirements in tender documents is groundless,” reads the press release.

On Thursday Ukrzaliznychpostach state enterprise was not open the bids on supply of over 22,000 tonnes of coal for railways, which is 48 percent of the target for 2015, the press service said.

“The terms are delayed due to the reaction of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine. Ukrzaliznychpostach has failed to buy a batch of coal since February 2014, and railways can buy only small volumes of coal themselves,” the administration said.
