The State Rail Transport Administration (Ukrzaliznytsia) January through July 2012 reduced transportation of freight by 0.2% year-over-year, to 262.7 million tonnes.
As Ukrzaliznytsia's press service said, freight turnover in the first seven months of 2012 was 138.6 billion tonne-kilometers, which was 0.9% up year-over-year.
In addition, the railways provided services to 288 million passengers in January-July 2012, which was 2.3% down year-over-year.
Payments transferred by Ukrzaliznytsia to the national budget and targeted funds over the period under review amounted to UAH 7.7 billion, which was 6% up year-over-year.
