Ukrgazvydobuvannia and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) on behalf of the U.S. government have signed a grant agreement worth $724,000 to finance a pre-feasibility study of the reservoir management of the Kotelevske gas condensate field (Poltava and Kharkiv regions).

According to the company’s press service, under the agreement it is planned to study the prospects of increasing hydrocarbons production on one of the deposit sections.

According to the press service, now gas is being extracted on the field, but there are prerequisites for gas condensate reserves in the lower strata. To develop gas condensate reserves Ukrgazvydobuvannia needs to assess the technical capabilities and potential of production, select technologies and develop a project, including funding. The next step will be to find investors for the project implementation

“The grant enables the company to start preparing a pilot project. This is the first grant from the U.S. government for the implementation of a joint project in the oil and gas industry in Ukraine. If the project is successful, we will be able to apply this experience on other our deposits,” Ukrgazvydobuvannia Director Yuriy Borysov said.
