The International Monetary Fund's demand for the devaluation of the hryvnia would lead to a drop in its exchange rate by 1.5-2 times, Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov has said.

President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych has ordered that urgent measures be taken to improve transparency at Naftogaz Ukrainy, in particular, taking into consideration demands of the international initiative on the transparency of mining branches, the president’s press service has reported.

Deputy Premier of Ukraine Yuriy Boiko and Energy and Coal Industry Minister Eduard Stavytsky have been charged with fulfilling the corresponding task by Jan. 31, 2014.

The Energy Ministry in these terms also ordered an analysis of the technical state of the underground gas storage facilities (UGS) of PJSC Ukrtransgaz, as well as the present volumes of natural gas pumped into the storages and the balance of reception and distribution of the natural gas by the state holding for 2010-2013.

Besides, an audit of Naftogaz for 2010-2013 should be done according to international standards by 2015.

Moreover, the Cabinet of Ministers led by Mykola Azarov must by Dec. 30, 2013 ensure work is done to reduce the price of natural gas in 2014 for Ukrainian consumers, and approve decisions on this.
