Under new Ukrainian law privatization should be finished by 2014, according to Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych.
"The updated state privatization program and amendments to privatization laws will be considered by parliament soon," Yanukovych said at "Investconference in Kyiv 2011" on Friday.
He said that the state should own a restricted number of companies that fulfill key functions of the state and guarantee national and economic security.
"The rest of the state-run companies are to be privatized… The process should be finished by 2014," the president said.
Yanukovych also said that the funds from the privatization should be used for social and humanitarian development.
