The exports of Ukrainian agricultural goods over the past six months increased by 32 percent, according to Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

“In general, exports from Ukraine grew by 19 percent, and the rise in the exports of Ukrainian agricultural products for the past six months was 32 percent,” Yatsenyuk said during his visit to Poltava region.

He noted that the increase in exports is observed even in the conditions when Russia refused Ukrainian products.

“We replaced Russian markets with European. We found the opportunity to sell our goods in the EU and other countries,” the premier said.

According to the head of government, the sale of meat and poultry by-products to Russia over half a year fell by 81 percent and exports to other countries were up from 30 percent to 100 percent. Exports of sunflower oil to Russia decreased by 50 percent, while in general the figure rose by 17 percent. Sunflower oil was exported to India, the Netherlands, Iran, Spain, Italy, Algeria, Malaysia, and Britain.

Meanwhile, Yatsenyuk stressed that over the past six months Ukraine significantly (by 18 percent) reduced food purchases abroad.
