You're reading: Yevpatoria port posts 48 percent rise in cargo handling in Jan-June

The Yevpatoria maritime merchant port (Crimea) in January-June 2013 increased cargo handling by 47.9 percent year-over-year, to 473,200 tonnes, the press service of the Infrastructure Ministry has reported.

The press service said that in handling of roll-on/roll-off (RO/RO) ships the port exceeded the last year indicator by 42 percent.

The number of ships with general bulk cargo in January-June 2013 grew by 4 percent, the ministry said.

The port is located in the center of Yevpatoria. Navigation is performed all year round.

The port has a ferry terminal for the carriage of general cargo and passengers.
