Third President of Ukraine (2005-2010) Viktor Yushchenko predicts that the Ukrainian gas transport system will soon be rented, or a consortium with Russia will be created.

"I think in two or three days we will see how gas transport companies agree to rent the Ukrainian gas transport system or create a consortium," Yushchenko said on the Shuster Live TV program on Friday evening.

He also added that such actions would be taken as part of the negotiations on reducing of gas price for Ukraine.

"In some days I think some masterpiece [of a decision] will appear," the former president said.

Yushchenko said in such a situation there would then be a discussion about a customs and monetary union with Russia.
