You're reading: Fake Gun Shooting Victim Is Back In The News Again

Jamar Nicholson was shot in the back, by a California police officer on February 10, 2015. With the frequent outbreak of racial discrimination and protests to try and stop it, this has genuinely gotten out of control. the incident could’ve been avoided and that the LAPD should further review their policy, in order to make sure that this type of accident never happens again.

Jamar http://news.yahoo.com/teen-sues-los-angeles-for–20-million-after-getting-shot-by-cop-194530347.html Yahoo news is reporting that he has decided to sue the city. He
admits to being happy, just for being alive and well, but he wants
rectification for the negligence of the police officers. He was only going to
school according to his parents and attorney, when he was gunned down by the
police. Herbert Hayden, his attorney feels that Jamar is owed this sustainable
amount money and a whole more, because he thinks that the cops should be behind
bars, as well. Two plain clothes officers were strolling the neighborhood, when
they just happened to witness the event occurring. It appeared to them that
Jamar had another individual held at gunpoint with a handgun, but what they
didn’t know is that it was only a plastic replica of a gun.

All the witnesses have an entirely
different version of the story than what is being told by the LAPD. It will
remain to be seen, whether or not, Jamar receives compensation for this
tragedy. Was he innocent in the incident, or was he at fault? Well, I guess one
will have to wait on the jury decision, before ever knowing the truth.

In the wake of the shooting, activists have
taken to the streets in hopes of making changes within the operations of the
LAPD. http://ktla.com/2015/02/13/in-wake-of-jamar-nichol… KTLA
suggests that the activists wish for changes to be enforced, after the death of
15-year old Jamar Nicholson. Although the term racism has been thrown around a
bit, there is no denying the fact that a fake or replica gun likely caused the
shooting. With this information in mind, the activists insists that the Los
Angeles Police Department should force their officers to undergo further
training, which will help them distinguish the difference between a real gun
and a fake one.

Of course, the LAPD Police Chief, Charlie
Beck, is looking for different changes, which could potential prevent these
types of deaths. He is encouraging toymakers to create replica guns in a
manner, which makes them more distinguishable from real guns. As he suggests,
the guns should be painted with bright hues, which will allow the cops to
instantly determine the differences between the guns. Although the civil rights
leaders, who are spurring on the activists, agree with this ideal, they also
suggest that this type of action will not justify the shooting of Jamar. They
suggest that the incident could’ve been avoided and that the LAPD should
further review their policy, in order to make sure that this type of accident
never happens again.

With racial tensions running high across
the nation, it is imperative for the police forces to take corrective measures
to ensure that they remain on good terms with everyone, regardless of color. Of
course, it is also helpful that citizens do not refuse to follow the orders of
police. It is certainly true that neither side of the equation is totally
innocent. Therefore, both sides need to undergo training to ensure this type of
accident doesn’t occur in the future.
