You're reading: International Jazz Festival “Jazz Bez” Will Give Peace Concerts on Liberated Territories in Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) Zone

Last years the geography of "Jazz Bez" united around jazz Kyiv, Kharkiv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Lutsk, Mostyska, Liublin, Sanok, Vrotslav, Bilostok, Novytsia, Peremyshl and Lviv. But this year organizers has gone further to the east and the concert track that will start in Vrotslav will have its finish in the liberated Ukrainian towns  - Sloviansk and Kramatorsk  - on December 10 and 11.  

The best representatives of Polish, Ukrainian and, in particular, Crimean Tatar jazz will give their concerts on liberated Ukrainian territories. Entrance fees to these concerts won’t be charged.

To organize these concerts in ATO zone, managers initiated fundraising at the popular Ukrainian crowd funding platform biggggidea.com. https://biggggidea.com/project/858/

Moreover, in Lviv “Jazz Bez” organizers at their own expense will take 10 musicians from ATO territories, and they will be able to visit concerts of their colleagues, learn at master-classes and participate in jam-sessions. Next year these musicians will develop jazz environment and organize festival in Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.

This year it will be the third “Jazz Bez” in Kyiv as well. On December 13, 2014 in the Conservatory of Kyiv there will be performed: Stewe Houben Quartet – Belgium and American project directed by the rector of the Royal Conservatory of Liege, outstanding jazz saxophonist and fleutist Steve Houben; and also Konstantin Ionenko Quintet – vivid example of modern European jazz sound performed by the best Ukrainian musicians who create unique mood and atmosphere professionally combining modern creative, post bop та ЕСМ.

Juscutum Attorneys Association has become a part of a team that organizes this festival in Kyiv. Fitness club chain “Sport Life” is an official sponsor of the event. Nowadays International Jazz festival “Jazz Bez” is the oldest international jazz festival in Ukraine. The history of “Jazz without Borders”, which is the full name of the festival, began in 2000 from the creative collaboration of Ukrainian Lviv and Polish Peremyshl. For fourteen years the festival has grown into annual large-scale international event that unites 14 Ukrainian and Polish towns and cities, and that is visited by hundreds of musicians and thousands of music fans.
