Utility workers have dismantled the barricade of concrete blocks on the corner of Bohdan Khmelnytsky and Khreschatyk Streets in central Kyiv.

Traffic in Khreschatyk has partly resumed in one lane in each direction, an Interfax correspondent said.

At the same time, four big tents of Maidan activists still remain on the road in front of the city hall building in Khreschatyk Street.

A few nights ago tires caught fire on a barricade outside the Central Department Store. The initial fire was promptly put out but managed to spread to nearby tents.

After that the tires and pavestone on this barricade were replaced with reinforced-concrete blocks. These have now been removed by utility workers.
