Kyiv Post’s Best of Kyiv 2010: AXA

If your car breaks down on the street or runs out of gas, help can be only one phone call away. If you buy obligatory car insurance with AXA, the policy will cover emergency response and repairs, as well as fuel delivery.

For the third straight year, the French AXA Group – after its purchase of two Ukrainian insurance companies (Vesko and Ukrainian Insurance Alliance) – continues to win praise.

A survey conducted by GfK market research firm shows that 82 percent of AXA’s clients were satisfied with the company’s service in 2010.

Even though the insurance market has not yet fully recovered from the financial crisis, AXA Insurance paid out more than Hr 336 million in claims in 2010, a 29 percent increase. And they’re fast.

Last year, about 70 percent of company’s clients get losses covered within 30 days. Due to the elimination of paperwork and automation of most processes, AXA gets the job done in a hurry.

“We have very ambitious objectives,” said Philippe Wautelet, chief executive officer of AXA in Ukraine. “It is to sustain profitable growth which will allow us to be the most profitable insurance company and remain in the leading position, with a market share not less than 15 percent.”

For the time being, the market share of AXA in Ukraine is 9.5 percent, but seems destined to increase.
The French AXA Group is one of the leading insurance companies in the world, operating in 56 countries with 96 million clients.

Since AXA entered Ukraine’s market at the end of 2007, the company has invested more than Hr 131 million in its Ukrainian branch. In 2011, investment of more than Hr 44 million is planned.
