You're reading: Bicycle lanes to be placed on 62 streets in Kyiv by 2012

According to the program for the installation and development of bicycle lanes in Kyiv for 2010-2012, seventeen bicycle routes with a total length of 161 kilometers will operate on 62 Kyiv streets by 2012, the press service of Kyiv City State Administration reported, referring to the Main Transport Department.

In the near future, the placing of bicycle lanes a total of 38 kilometers long will start on the Troyeschyna, Brovary, Trukhanovsky, Vyshgorod and Borschahivka routes.

At the same time, Kyivavtodor communal corporation, during the building of new and reconstruction of existing road infrastructure, is also placing bicycle lanes. For example, during the reconstruction of Zdolbunivska Street in 2010, a bicycle lane was put in place. This year, the installation of a bicycle land on Mykoly Bazhana Avenue was started.
