Kyiv is considering building the Lvivska Brama subway station, but construction work could be delayed for two years due to technological difficulties, Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksandr Popov has said.
"Today we discussed the question of where to move further after the [tunneling] shields reach the Teremky station. And we decided that we need to start the construction of Lvivska Brama. This station is important, and we are transporting passengers from the center to the existing stations, simultaneously starting the construction of the subway to Troieschyna on the right bank [of the Dnipro River]," he said during his visit to the construction site of the Ipodrom subway station in Kyiv on Monday.
Popov said that it would be possible to commission the Lvivska Brama station in no earlier than two years – due to technological problems.
"We would like to commission it quickly, but there is a technological problem – very active ground water, and it’s necessary to make tunnels, freezing the soil, so technologically it will take up to two years. Unfortunately, this cannot be done more quickly," he said.
