The development of a new general plan for Kyiv until 2025 costs Hr 20 million, according to Serhiy Bronevytsky, the head of the municipally owned Institute of the General Plan of Kyiv, which is a general contractor of the project.

“State experts evaluate the cost of the development of the general plan at Hr 20 million. As of today, its financing in the past six years has totaled Hr 16.45 million, including the cost of services provided by the general contractor and all subcontractors,” he said during official discussions of the General Plan of Kyiv until 2025 at the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities in Kyiv on Oct. 27.

For comparison, Bronevytsky cited the cost of the previous general plan of Kyiv until 2020 in the prices of 1997, which stood at Hr 7.3 million and is now about Hr 50 million if calculated in the current prices.

More than 10 research, mainly state-owned, institutions are subcontractors of the General Plan of Kyiv until 2025.

Bronevytsky said the new General Plan of Kyiv until 2025 is being developed under presidential decree No. 157/2008 and Kyiv City Council decision No. 262/262 dated September 18, 2008; respective instructions by the Cabinet of Ministers and with approval of Kyiv City State Administration in 2009, as the previous General Plan of Kyiv until 2020 lost its regulatory functions from the view of the development strategy of the capital and legitimacy for the adoption of urban planning decisions.

The concept of the General Plan of Kyiv until 2025 has been approved by experts in urban planning at several international conferences and during public hearings, having incorporated changes since 2011.
