You're reading: Government approves project for parking area at Boryspil airport near Terminal D

The Ukrainian government has approved an adjusted project on the construction of a parking area at Boryspil International Airport presented by the Infrastructure Ministry.

The government’s press service reported that the resolution was passed on November 19, 2012.

The parking area will be located near Terminal D on a land plot of 30,000 square meters. The site where facilities will be built is 18,389 square meters. The area will be able to service 2,038 cars.

“The adjusted project was approved by Ukrderzhbudekspertyza, confirming its correspondence to current standards of durability, security and exploitation safety,” reads the report.

The construction of the parking area will support the effective functioning of the transport system, as today there are no parking areas near Terminal D, and the closest ones are located near terminals B and F.

As reported, referring to Boryspil Airport Director General Anton Volov that the construction of the parking complex was planned to end nine months after the Euro 2012 European football championship.

Boryspil International Airport is the main airport of the country and services 65% of the passenger air traffic in Ukraine. It is the only airport in Ukraine from which transcontinental flights are performed.

Boryspil International Airport has two runways: one 4,000 meters long and 60 meters wide, and another 3,500 meters long and 63 meters wide.
